Our Broker Compensation
KTX Insurance Brokers believes in protecting the personal information that you provide us. We have made safe computing and the protection of your privacy an important priority. With the exception of our insurance suppliers and where mandated by the government, the personal information that you share with us will not be shared with third parties without your prior consent.
Our role is to provide you with the best insurance value that combines coverage, service and price. We also provide personalized, quality service that includes professional insurance advice, ongoing policy maintenance and claims support. When any issues arise regarding your insurance coverage, we are your advocates, using our professional experience to best represent your individual interest.
Brokerage compensation is part of your insurance premium. For your benefit, we have listed below insurers we represent and have included the range of compensation each provides as a percentage of your overall premium.
Coachman Insurance*: 10-20%
Travelers Canada* (Chieftain Insurance): 12.5-20%
Travelers Canada* (Dominion of Canada): 12.5-20%
Echelon Insurance*: 12.5-15%
Gore Mutual*: 10-20%
SGI Canada*: 10-20%
Scottish and York*: 12.5% - 23%
Facility (Royal & SunAlliance) PPV: 11.5% to a max of $370
Facility (Royal & SunAlliance) REC: 7.5% to a max of $180
This commission percentage is paid annually for both new business and renewals. Should there be any increase in the commission schedule we receive from your insurer, or any other material change that affects our compensation agreements, we will notify you.
In order for us to maintain strong relationships with quality insurers, we work with each to provide the type of business they desire. The insurers with an asterisk noted above recognize our efforts through contingent (profit) commission contract. Payment of this contingent (profit) commission may depend on a combination of growth, profitability (loss ratio), volume, retention and increased services that we provide on behalf of the insurer. Kanetix Ltd., has ownership in KTX Insurance Brokers Ltd. The ownership and financing provided has allowed KTX Insurance Brokers Ltd. to expand our business.

The Coachman Insurance Company was established in 1979 and sells a full suite of property and casualty insurance products in the Ontario market. They offer competitively-priced insurance products exclusively through a network of independent brokers. Most of whom are local business people who are customer and community-oriented. SGI CANADA purchased Coachman in 2001 and, through its subsidiaries like Coachman Insurance, is proud to meet the insurance needs of customers in 7 Canadian provinces. SGI CANADA has been in the insurance business for more than 60 years. Coachman has been affiliated with KTX Insurance Brokers since 2009.

Echelon General is a Canadian owned insurance company serving a national market with a wide range of niche products including non-standard automobile, RV, motorcycle and antique auto insurance. Echelon is a publicly trades company on the TSX and is owned by EGI Financial Holdings. Echelon distributes their products through independant insurance brokers and has been affiliated with KTX Insurance Brokers since 2004.
Gore Mutual Insurance Company is Canada's oldest federally licensed mutual property and casualty insurance companies, celebrating over 160 years of quality service to Canadians. Gore Mutual was established in 1839 and 2010 will represent the company's 171th year of continuous operation. Pafco Insurance Company, underwritten by Pembridge Insurance Company, provides as part of their suite of products, auto insurance. Pafco is offered through independent, licensed brokers in a number of provinces, including Ontario. Pafco has been affiliated with KTX Insurance Brokers since 2005.
Pembridge offers an array of insurance products for a broad range of risks for auto insurance, home and property insurance and motorcycle insurance. Pembridge supplies its insurance products through various independent brokers throughout Canada. Pembridge has been affiliated with KTX Insurance Brokers since 2005.
The SGI CANADA is the trade name of the property and casualty insurance division of Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI) which offers products in more than half of Canada's provinces. It operates SGI CANADA in Saskatchewan, SGI CANADA Insurance Services Ltd. in Alberta and Manitoba, the Coachman Insurance Company in Ontario and is a partner in the Insurance Company of Prince Edward Island (ICPEI) in the Maritimes.
